Hi, I've posted this in the surfing forum but placing here as well.
ocean-guardian.com/products/freedom-surf
I am interested in any user feedback on this device relating to surfing. Not it's effectiveness against the men in grey suits but how the device holds up after prolonged uses. I would have thought electronics and seawater just don't go together.
They are not cheap to buy if they only lasts a short period but justified if you can get a few years out it.
Also, it looks like the weight of the battery doesn't effect board performance too much but would be good to hear any feedback on this as well.
Thanks
Saw my first one in the flesh fitted to a SUP last weekend... The guy had had it on his board for a while and it still looked in great condition. He hadn't had any issues with it.
Interestingly, fitting it to a SUP meant he had to have the foil on the bottom of the board placed at an angle with the front pad almost at the rail.... Bloke was telling me he has to be careful getting back on the board as if you touch the pads it gives you a decent tingle!!
I contacted them a couple of years ago and at that time they did not recommend for SUP, carbon paddle I think was one of the issues.
Just checked their website and product only for Longboards and short boards.
Reports are many retailers are upset as new stocks have recently arrived back on the shelf, but they have not supplied all the products to cover the faulty ones returned and customers are getting rather angry at the stores..
In reality best check out www.Rpela.com
