Hi All,
I ran over the leading edge of my gong 6m superpower . The wind wing was repaired in a day however I've tried to get a quote from gong and it's been a while. I'm new to kites and wind wings. Can I get an alternative bladder, or a repair? I was a little surprised how flimsy bladders are.
The 6m Superpower has been great fun. Pumping the wing you really get some speed up.
Thanks
Ryan at www.facebook.com/thesaildoctoraus/ fixed mine. They are the same as kite bladders so easy to fix.
In kiting, there are after-market companies that either sell copies of common bladders or will make them custom. One is Air-Time in Oregon, maybe same available in australia? They tend to be the same price or a little cheaper than OEM, and good quality.
You can also repair bladders, even big rips. The pros use some sort of welding. I know people who have done with aquaseal patches and report them as strong as new. (eg may pop it again but in a different spot) I am leery of trusting a repaired bladder kiting, but less risk in winging, as you can just paddle in.
Hi Andy. how did you get on? Ive ran mine over today and gong are showing none in stock!?!?
Got it patched by Ryan the sail doctor. Mine was obliterated too.
