Just used the 1250 on the river for the first time with my 4m. Was expecting nuking conditions but it was only 17-22kt. At 90kg I was pumping a lot to get going but surprised at its low end and I really liked its loose feel... I am destroyed and can't get off the couch!

I have been using the -2 shim lately and it gives you earlier lift off and more front foot pressure. Works well.

I have the -2 so will definitely give it a go. Next time I'll go the bigger wing too.

Finally received my 1250 last week and got out on the 4M wing. 85, 232, 0 shim, slammed forward in boxes. 25-35 knots. WOW. First impressions are very positive. I liked the 1250 better than the 1550 that I've borrowed and have ridden a few sessions. The 1250 feels really positive in turns and very responsive. Pumping felt good too. Easy to ride fast. Stoked! 1850/1250 combo feels like a nice set up.

About a week ago, I proned surfed the 1250 in knee high surf, and was surprised by the lift. Probably should have used the 1850 but was itching to try the new toy. Really liked the steady lift. Haven't got to the point where I'm pumping, so can't comment on that part. Anyway, would have never guessed I'd like that small foil for my size.

It pumps great for it size, get it moving and it's easier and covers more ground than the 1850,but can't pump it out of a hole as easy, or from a slow start like the 1850.

Yeh that's pretty much what I've found to above as I've proned using both. Good call. And as what has been mentioned before keeping high on the foil when pumping makes a huge difference.

Anyone chopped their 1250 on here yet ?
Seen some positive feedback from one bloke - wouldn't mind hearing from some others before I start cutting bits off....

I would just put my 1050 on rather than totally devalue my 1250.

Sounds like you can keep the extra glide and have less breaches leading to crashing. I will give mine a couple more chances but if it continues to misbehave I will probably take 10 mm off the tips. Not thinking of selling it so devaluation is not a problem.

I think you need to go further than that for any real gain re ventilation. The tip washes away so the last 10mm is level to the surface of the water when turning sharply. The one I saw was 25mm I think. Edit wrong 12.67mm

Yes maybe I will start at 10. Easier to cut some more off than to stick it back on.

He has not used it. Very doubtful this will give massive performance gains.

I've seen some comments somewhere that there's a v2 coming out of the 1250. Has anyone else heard similar?

You may be thinking of the new HS1550 V2

Must admit ocean was flat as today but with a few swell runners. Would have been nice on a HA 1125 or whatever.

Chopped about 18 mm off each side of my 1250 last night and rounded it up a bit with sandpaper. Used it yesterday unchopped and today chopped. Both days similar nice clean 3 foot foiling waves. Feels better to me. Rode out of quite a few situations where I previously would have crashed. Didn't notice any down side and according to my watch most waves were around 24 km where yesterday was 22. Swell was a little smaller today. Might end up chopping my 1550 too. Feels similar to the 1050 now but better glide.

Very slight whistle and seems to turn as good or better. Will round out the front corner a bit more

Got myself a minus 2 shim. Will report back as well. Man all this cutting etc. not for me. It could be because I haven't even touched the surface of pushing the 1250 beyond it's capabilities. Plus in my mind I'm just gonna trust the designers, figured they know a lot more than I do.

Minus 2 is really good with the 1250. Helps with turning and early lift.

Tried a mates chopped 1250 tonight. Turns easier but does not give you the punch out of the turn that the stock one does. Less breaching and recovers better. I will give the stock one a final try in the morning before chopping. I do like the punch out of turns from the stock wing. KDMaui tail to try too Lifes good

Yeh cool. Those are really good added bonuses for me. To be honest even with the new board and mast track more forward, it still feels like it's gotta come forward more. I suppose the better you get the more you want to push the further forward you feel you need it. Figured the shim is less expensive than a board with a decent F ing track in the right bloody place !

gonna cut ya 1250 hey? Yeh nah at the moment for me.

really interested to hear your feedback on that new tail though.get a move on though the April may wind blues is just about on us.
