I think a longer narrow board could definitely get you out winging in lighter winds than anything else. There would of course be a point of diminished returns which I'm guessing would be anything over6'6".

My mate is a bit smaller and very advanced paddler he has 2 sunova downwind boards that are around 6' x 22" and when he uses them for winging occasionally. He reckons they gather speed and get up on foil really easily and allow him to get out in super light winds. I have also heard reports of guys using the ONE egg pros with great results for light wind winging.

Bottom shape is a huge factor as well. My new custom sunova has really nice contours, it gets sailing speed and releases from the water really easy. My previous board was a ONE 6'5" recessed deck and it had a much rounder convex hull which pushed alot more water when winging and was harder to build speed to get on foil. ( still an excellent board though and to be fair it was designed previous to the winging revolution )

So my advice is just get one of the Tardrew brothers to make you a super sweet board and you will be loving life

Yep. I've been winging the One Egg board for a year now. Bought it for Sup foil surfing and ended up using it as my wing board for all the marginal days because it gets onto foil so easily. It's particularly good when you want to go out in larger surf and marginal winds, having more floatation and easy to get up on foil = less likely to get caught inside. I also get to on smaller foils, which is better in bigger surf as well.

Weights for the pro are on website. 7KG for the 6'9" which sounds great for a board that large. Not sure if correct because the 6'0 and 6'6 don't seem right. Anyone weight their board yet or have any info?

The non pro 6'3 102L comes in at 6.1kg, so imagine the elite 6'6 99.9L would be a pretty similar weight or tiny bit less.
Can't see any weights on the Sunova website?

So they have got to be wrong?
I would guess the 6'0 is supposed to be 5.51kg and the 6'6 6.50kg. Then everything would seem a bit more reasonable.

Regardless the 6'3 x 24 wide pro board is confirmed at 6.1kg, a friend has it.

New aviators have landed in West Oz.
These will be flying down the coast all summer.

Out with the Old and in with the New.
Plenty of adjustment in the 14 inch tracks.
Armie and Lift riders should be happy now using Sunova.

Had my 6'6'' Pro out the other day on the Swan in some river bumps. So much easier to paddle up than my old 2019 Sunova 6'4'', like chalk and cheese. Felt much more balanced when up on foil, released from touches easier, more maneuverable when up. Little bit more tippy but you get that with 3'' narrower.
Stoked with it! Bring on proper summer SW goodness!

Hey guys, Glad everyone is loving the new boards so far.
The main change is from this to the aviator is the vee in the nose as far as contours go.
For those wondering about weights, Alot of the boards ordered at our shop were built in Sunovas Vapor tech which is the lightest they do.
Sunova are now doing a little emblem on the board for different constructions. If it has a feather on it, its vapor. the weights quoted online would be the standard construction. The color does not represent the construction at all. Hope this helps.

Hey guys, anyone an idea why sunova still is doing that kind of kicktail/tail rocker? From what I have learned this will not help for an early realease of the board. DK and Amstrong and new Axis DW froth - all these are doing a straight tail. Or is it just because these boards are newer than the aviator dw pro shape (which is a modified shape of the "old aviator DW" from 2021).
Furthermore, does somebody have the 6,9 aviator dw pro in use for: 1. dw prone/sup foiling 2. winging 3. prone surf foiling (like longboarding).? Casey stated that this is the board which does all. Would be interesting to hear.

I'm still in the testing phase of my new 6'3x24 Pro. So far can't really fault it.
1) winging - awesome light wind board
2) downwind sup - Waiting for wind still
3) Surf Sup - stable to stand on (I'm 85kg)
4) FoilDrive - cheat code - way too easy

I think as a one board for all the 6'3pro is doing what I wanted. If you are an experienced paddler more prone or DW biased go longer on the 6'6 or 6'9 elites. The shape is one Marcus and James has refined over 3+ years. Dropping the width for me from 29" to 24" has made it way easier to paddle up on the aviators.

I have the 6'6'' Pro, I have done multiple DW bay runs on it, much easier to paddle up than my previous board (2'' shorter, 3'' wider). The board releases very easy when paddling up and feels balanced on the water. I haven't had a chance to DW on the ocean yet, soon I will with the prevailing wind conditions.
In term of winging I am thinking I will sell my current wing board and just use the 6'6'' Pro. I is narrower than my wing board and the tracks extend much further in comparison too, when I put the mast all the way forward for winging the board does feel much longer than my 5'6'' wing board, so narrower (better for railing the board over) and not much difference in length, I will most likely sell the 5'6'' wing board.
For SUP surf foil I could paddle into unbroken waves and could still pump and link up 2 for 1s.

I haven't tried prone paddling it yet but most likely will surfing and DW just to see.

Very happy with the purchase, I was thinking should have I gone the elite but for me the pro feels perfect. I'm 90kg 6'6'' x 25'' 5 9/16 111L Aviator DW Pro, two thumbs up and a big smile from me.

How are you guys getting on with these boards. i have a sup surf board SMIK 9'2"x29". my concern is how stable they are to stand up on in bumpy seas, I find my long board a challenge at times. thanks.

Is there any reason why you would not go for the biggest model 7'6 to learn DW on ?

I think all of the Sunova Elite boards are 7' are suited for learning on. Only negative of going up the 7'6" x137L will be the added board weight. I think that biggest board is aimed at the 100kg+ paddler. If you are below 90kg then look at the 7'0x23 or 7'3x23.
