Thought I would give a quick review on this foil.

I brought this foil about two weeks ago with the Alloy mast and fuselage as I have been looking for good foils to use and sell and this one interested me.

I brought the 1600 wing as I thought this would be a good size to see what this foil is about.

I will do a more detailed review on setting it up and what's in the box at a later date this is more about how it works.

So far I have done a few light downwind sessions and a bunch of wave sessions on this wing and straight up love the way it feels.
The wing seems to have a huge range and when most were not getting up on there 102 Axis I was flying fine on a light wind DW run, i still had to work as it was very light but I made the who run without touching down which I don't think I would have been able to do on any other foils I have used.

Top end speed feels really good and after using the new 900 wing from Axis for a while it kind of feels close to that in the top end but a far better bottom end and does not drop out as much as the higher aspect wings when the speed gets a bit slower. Still need to test in higher winds but after averaging 19.6km/per hour in super light wind I feel this wing should sit around the 21 to 22km average which for it's size is pretty good, This is average speed over a 1km not just a peak speed by the way as I don't think a peak speed really tells us much.

On the surf side this is by far the best wing I have ever surfed on, holds it's turns crazy good and accelerates through its runs like nothing I have been on and to pump around it feels super efficient.

I have the carbon mast and fuselage coming as I love light and the extra bit of speed and feel carbon gives but after riding the Alloy set up this would rank as one of the best I have been on and I have been on a lot if different foils lately.

I have been testing a lot of stuff as I only really want to sell the stuff that works right and gives the best bang for your buck, still a lot I have not tested but this Lol foil is one that will be making the cut and getting put on the shop floor.

Will do a proper review once I get some decent wind of how it goes at high speed DW.
Myself I will more than likely ride the 1300 wing as my go to wing and use the 1600 as my light wind DW or really small surf wing. They do a 1900 as well and I will get one of the bigger guys to review this to see how it stacks up against some of the other bigger wings on the market.

Nice review. What will they sell for both ali and carbon. Looks like the market is heating up now with new improved products coming.

1300 Alu may come in around 1800AU from a very quick conversion, not sure how long that stab would last at my local but very nice looking foil design.

Nice review paul.j. Looks like those upturned wing tips are the clue for good tight turning.
You know your products.
Good to see you found a good quality foil if not an excellent quality foil to compliment your excellent quality & priced boards.

Looks really good, especially the wide speed ability.
I suppose you're talking about 1300,1600 and 1900 cm2 ?

Yeah maybe not the cheapest foils on the market but i think right now one of the best wings around, We do a pre-order deal which heaps keeps the pricing down for those who are keen as well.

Yeah its been a strange one for us and foils and choosing what to sell, i really want to test stuff before i put it for sale in the shop as there is some real average foils around which really just is not us. These ticked quite a few boxes and made the cut, i still really have to test the higher end of the downwind side but everything else has felt really good. Super keen now to get the carbon mast here as i feel this will be a nice little upgrade.

No we don't have these here in Aus yet, if i can get a set i will do a full review as well. We have sold Gofoil since the beginning and feel gofoil really needed these wings as some of the older wings now feel very average compared to some of the new stuff. It's also been hard as a lot of people are now switching away from gofoil just from some of the past maybe bad decisions. People having to buy whole new sets all the time i think really wore thin and even though they are now modular it is a bit to late for some.

New wings look really good and keen to test them out if i get sent some.

Very exciting times

I'd have to say that if you're foiling a lot of reefs your wingtips won't last that long, mine are not in the best shape after a bit of minor reef rash.

it is a really great riding wing though so great if you're a sand only guy.

Just knock the tips off on the back wing, we have done this on a few foils over the time and it changes this a little but no a huge drama.
If you knock the front wing tips of that face up I think you are foiling wrong!??

New Takuma Access foil looks pretty cool. Price is right to get more into sport, which will help development and continue to bring the price point down. The LOL looks amazing. We need more Takuma dealers here in the states

Look like another good option and not too expensive.

Does the wing have 2 types of finishes? Buy the photos it looks that way to me. Gloss trailing edge and sanded or flat leading edge?

Someone mentioned gloss surfaces may have benefits on certain parts of the wing.

No algae grow on the shiny surface
a good balance between speed and grip

Helpful Review, ta. Matt at The Sup Hut has just got one and is very excited. Looking into wingtips/winglets is a rabbit hole www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0307904X12003769 But in the real world do they help in whitewater and or help with minimising cavitation?

Yeah mate still loving it and I have spent heaps of time on it now in the surf and DW.

I am trying to get a good day DW to do a vid about how it goes and why I like it while I am actually riding it as all the info is in my head and it's easy to show what is so good about it.

In the surf the wing has to one of the best around it grips right through its turns and holds amazing speed, I can pump around for what feels like forever and way easier than I have been able to do on any other wing.
On the DW side I have been using the 1600 and this has been matching top speeds of Ben on the new 900 Axis if not even a little quicker but it has a much better bottom end when you do have to go slow. This is the part that stands out for me and what makes it such a good alround wing. This is all still on the Alloy set up as I am waiting for my new carbon mast to turn up any day now.

Yes there will be faster DW wings I am sure but these come with needing a higher skill set in a lot of cases but as a unreal alround set up I think the Takuma is right at the top at the moment.

Other wings I have tried, all the Axis gear, All the Gofoil stuff (not the new GL wings)
Lots of Naish, NP foil, lots of custom wings, and a few others here and there.

Nice review.
I can't tell from the pictures and can't find much details on this foil. I had question maybe you can answer.
1. Is the mast, fuselage, and plate mount separate pieces?
2. What is the mast length and will there be other sizes? And other size tails/ stab?

Mast plate and fuselage are all one piece.

Mast length is 75cm for the carbon

Wing sizes are 1300, 1600 and 1900 with the 1300 you get a smaller tail wing.

There is also the Aluminum option, think it has mast length options of 60/70 & 80cm.
All comes apart like most Alu foils.

I have the 1900 and 1600 wings with the Aluminium Fues.

I only have downwinded the 1900 one but found it really nice and smooth and for the size of it its really quick. I need to adjust the shim on the tail for the next run to get it sussed out.

I have surfed the 1600 twice and found it to be great in waves (on a sup). It has a lot of lift but still has great top end and carves really well. I was pretty amazed by how well these new wings perform.

Funnily enough a lot of crew are switching back to GoFoil after riding their new GL wings in Hawaii....especially with being modular, lightweight, full carbon & the most competitive pricing on carbon compared to alloy in the market

Yeah the new go foil wings look great but I'm sure we could read or watch videos of them in the multiple other threads Go Foil threads, this one is about Takuma.

It's definitely NOT funny to hijack this Takuma thread.
It's definitely NOT the way to gain more sympathy for you personally and your product.
