Hi
thinking about a hard fast touring board. I'm in the UK and the JP seems to look and sound good.
any one have one used one? Any other boards similar performance price? lastly, any issues with having a hard touring board, pros/cons? I have a Red 13'2 voyager, as well as a couple of surf sups. I like idea of a faster touring board than the Red, plus I haveto pump it up ??
thanks.

Yes bud, I've got the 2020 version (check out my Instagram at @jakeoski for the real-life shots) - I really like this board, it's got more glide than typical touring boards in this class. Pretty stable in the chop too and looks the part. The only downside is that, as with many JP boards, the handle is fairly small and placed a bit off-balance... so don't try to do races starting with a run or you might need a new set of teeth after the nose dives in Not a massive issue though.

It glides better than the Voyager for sure. I've also got the S25 Naish Tourer Custom on demo in store - also an epic board, a bit slower than the GT but feels a bit more stable. GT makes you feel like you're on a race board just without the instability drama.

The only downside of having a composite vs inflatable board are is the fact that you need to take a bit more care of it and don't whack it with the paddle that often... and also transport/storage bit. But if you got the latter sorted I'd 100% take the GT over any inflatable tourer dude.

Thanks Jake. Great info, appreciate it. Some great pics. just realised your in Dalkeith, I'm moving up to Newcraighall in March. Looking forward to chatting once covid allows.looks like you have a good scene up there, I fancy a bit of faster touring around the Lochs, plus less hassle pumping ;)
Cheers.

No probs! We've got a surf store in Dalkeith so if you want the GT give me a shout and I'll do you a local deal :) You're free to give mine a go beforehand too :)

Awesome mate! :) We get a mixed bag here, there's no proper reef anywhere near but you get some decent days!
