Going back several posts to the PFD item by RR & Billboard, yesterday at the SUP day at Kingston Beach we where visited by the boys in blue. They told us that everyone had to wear a PFD unless they were competing.

There's a bit of interest in the Park beach area
for SUPers to get together .. form a group for
regular instruction and training.

Mainly beginners and women who want support,
instruction and company until they get confidence
to go it alone.

It doesn't exclude more advanced SUPers who
will be needed to lead and advise and help with
developing skills.

Everyone is welcome .. ANY FURTHER INTEREST ?

What does "put out" mean Cruisen ?

Is that what you do with the chooks
before you go to bed ?

BAKERY .. GOOD COFFEE .. GOOD EGG & BACON ROLL.

The park beach Boardriders crew of cliftonben, cruisen, riverider and mick took themselves on a downwinder from Lauderdale to Kingston yesterday arvo, it became more crosswind than downwind so they ended up at sandy bay instead, not all bad, they did manage to get some downwind in and riverider was seen pulling onto some very nice runners with not much effort at all on the new dc/nsp 12'6"

I think you need to put in a bit more next time cliftonben, It felt like I spent most of my time doing this to see what happened to you, thought you were going to be a bit of a young gun

"Unless they are competing" seems a it strange to be sitting on the beach wearing a PFD

Seriously though that is a strange rule isn't it. Soon they will say that a surfer has to wear a PFD.

Silly rules, made by silly people.

Lots of prizes on offer at the North West Boardriders comp tomorrow . Huuuuuge thanks to all sponsors especially Damien from Jaysails SUP Kite and Windsurfing Lauderdale , Canoe n Surf Devonport and Beachbeat Ulverstone .

Forecast for a bit of rain , but the water is nice and warm and there should be a nice little northeasterly swell rolling in .

4 SUPs spotted out on midway point yesterday practicing for the comp and the report was the surfing was pretty hot , bring it on

Northern end of the state is much warmer, always need a hood, gloves and booties down this end.
Best of luck with the comp today fellas.

Fun comp today held in pretty difficult conditions with a lot of the rides ending up on the sand . The final was taken out by Caleb Pearce over Ben Kearney .Caleb has to be a hot favourite for the state titles in June with the way he is surfing at the moment . Girls comp taken out by Mel Daley on her Fanatic Allwave .
Pleasing to see lots of people new to SUP turn up to demo the boards available .

all looking forward to northwest tassies second SUP comp , not to mention the club challenge with Park Beach

unfortunately the surf gods were not kind today but still reckon the best surfers of the day made the final and the rest of us had a wow of a time

today we had the first female competitors to surf in a SUP surf contest in Tassie(3 ) and I reckon the oldest SUP surf competitor in Tassie , if not Australia at 78 (to be confirmed )years of age
