Another early Makorori Moment.....would you believe some people don't get to the beach until about 10am?

The swell that rocked Tahiti has made its way here to Oahu.
My partner sizes up the inside bowl on the way out to our hideaway outside reef.

The takeoff required some commitment.

On a fast track and needing every bit.

The wind started to step up later on and made it more challenging.

Lots of carnage...

Take care everyone and keep it safe!

LOOKING at getting a fat tire Ebike - couple of long beaches here that are not accessible by car - looking at Leitner, Progear EBlast, Matrix GTR. what do you have Gizzie - good on beach? thanks Steve

Interested in setup attachment piece that you have on the back of the bike. Could you take a few close ups and maybe share how it works.

I'm thinking of doing something similar so I can get a spot at my local without driving the car.

looks fun creek ,i got a 12 search coming ...paddle weird ..the blade broke ,wave hit me and the board sideways ..stuck my paddle in ,it went sideways across the board and the weight of me and board plus wave ,broke the blade in half ..so it was a bit flappy ...flapped back in shore ..and flew home ..fixable but will end up heavier ...looking for a new one now ..

Tiny Town Beach two days in a row.....using e bike shoulder sling to get the Laird surrator there. Board also has the Terry Chung name on it so suspect it more of a Terry board than a Laird board surfsplendorpodcast.com/324-terry-chung/

It was raining, so only Kook Hat Cam last night.
Doesn't show waves well when riding, but ok catching others on the paddle out

No pictures or video, but had two great surfs Wednesday and Friday, each 3 hours long and 30+ waves. Lots of head-high-plus waves. With the lockdown I haven't been out as much, but I was so fortunate to have two days of great conditions, very little competition (yesterday I had the break to myself most of the time). There is nothing like having powerful waves, flying along at 20-26 kms/hr, top to bottom surfing, prettending to be a real surfer (not just an old dude with little skill). The batteries are fully charged and I am still smiling!

My first wave back from my Mexico trip almost killed me.
The board shot right at my face, but my paddle and hand stopped it.
It happened freakishly fast

video coming!

I did something similar a few months back on a really innocuous looking 2ft wave, tripped a rail, board got sucked up under me and I went down hard on my ribs. I came up gasping for air and thought I had a.) broken some ribs and b.) broken the board. Fortunately a couple of minutes floating around in the impact zone sorted me out and I continued with the session with some extra bruises. Board was fine!

Definitely lucky... but the video shows my reflexes are still functioning... kinda surprised me actually, because I had no idea I did anything.

Seems like it's always the little waves! Glad you didn't break any ribs... they take you out for a while!
